Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress who is best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. She first began her career as an actress in the late 1980s. The actress became popular for the movie Tezaab with the veteran actor Anil Kooor. The next time she appeared on screen was in Dil along with Aamir. Her birthplace was in the Mumbai middle-class family, and began dancing when she was a child. She started acting when young and fought through a couple of years since the majority of her first film projects were unsuccessful. Eventually she became one the most famous actresses in Indian films. The actress took a hiatus from her profession due to her marriage, before going back to the world of entertainment. She played a major role as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. Dixit was also awarded the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her fame is based on her charitable work as well.
